learning beyond school by completing a diverse range of 8 hour modules. Managing Director Tim Warner added "The modules allow children
to gain accreditation for taking part in activities both before and after school. This is an excellent way of further motivating
children to conduct a healthy lifestyle." Children can gain certificates and medals; bronze and silver medals are presented at school

New GCSE in Developing Personal Health & Fitness
In 2 Sports are continuing to develop into
a market leading provider of informally delivered qualifications
for young people. The Level 1 Certificate in Developing Personal
Health & Fitness has successfully been piloted in the City of Leicester
for S.T.A.R.S (an organisation aiming to provide people from deprived
backgrounds with opportunities to achieve), and has demonstrated
its potential as a tool for raising self-esteem, building confidence
and of course accrediting achievement. The award aims to provide
a basic overview of the constituents ofa healthy lifestyle and is
ideally suited for candidates in school, patients from doctors'
referral schemes and anyone intending to improve their knowledge
of exercise, fitness, health and well-being. School leavers, pupils
disengaged from learning, the long term unemployed and people returning

Leadership Award now with Level 2 Status
As of 18th March 2007 the Level 1 Award in Community Sports Leadership was withdrawn and the new Level 2 Award in Community Sports
Leadership was launched. The two awards are broadly similar with key changes lifting the level of the award as follows:
* The compulsary (rather than optional) inclusion of a recognised HSE first aid qualification
* Additional and amended learning outcomes across three units
* An important amendment to the Demonstration of Leadership Unit to bring the qualification in line with Level 2 coaching qualifications.
This requires candidates to both plan and demonstrate leadership over a minimum 10 hour period which allows progression of their
participants. Progression is not linked to coaching specific techniques of any one sport - this remains the domain of coaching not
sports leadership.
The succesful candidate will now be capable of leading a session independantly within a defined sporting environment and with a defined
group of participants.
New
More than 200 young people achieve Leadership
Awards
In 2 Sports have delivered the Award in Sports
Leadership and the Award in Community Sports Leadership to over
200 young people. Of those, 164 have been accredited giving a pass
rate of over 80%. Senior Instructor, and Internal Verifier for In
2 Sports, Miguel Arcos-Diaz commented "Most of the leadership
awards are delivered to challenging young people that are often
disruptive at school - they seem really enthusiastic and keen to
become a sports coach however." The leadership awards are for
young people aged 14 and above but recently Sports Leaders UK have
added the Young Leaders Award for 9 - 13 year olds. "We are
big believers in the leadership awards. We have seen some real success
stories with these awards right at the centre. In fact, a number
of our previous instructors have emerged from attending our courses
and have gone on to work for local councils within sports development."
added Managing Director Tim Warner.

customers and therefore a real diverse population of end-users.

Teacher Training in Warwickshire
In 2 Sports are supporting the training of primary school teachers in Nuneaton & Bedworth and North Warwickshire. The Northern Warwickshire School Sport Partnership (NWSSP) have been providing an intensive support package to individual teachers to develop their confidence, knowledge and skills in their own school environment. This has been running for a number of years in order to meet one of the objectives of the PE & School Sports Club Links (PESSCL) programme. Sarah Warrington, Partnership Development Manager for NWSSP commented "It is early days but I decided to contract the training out to In 2 Sports because as a company they appear well organised and efficient, and the staff we have worked with have appeared professional." The PESSCL programme is now well established nationally with a common objective of improving PE and Sport in schools with the development of stronger club links. Managing Director Tim Warner added "The programme shares a common objective of all those involved in grass-roots sport and so is a valuable one. I feel it is an excellent endorsement of the quality of our services to be given the opportunity to work closely with NWSSP through this programme."
